This has been going on for many builds now, for Thunderbird Nightly versions 136 and 137 and now Beta version 136.

The notification sound will play if the program is fully open but not if it's minimized.

Really annoying. It worked as it should in previous build versions....

have you tried this on the release version, 128.7esr? The ones you mentioned are known to have bugs.

No, I haven't. I switched to Beta when Nightly stopped working with version 136. Beta worked until it updated to 136.

I run Nightly and Beta versions for testing purposes but this particular bug has gone on for many builds and now at least 2 versions of NIghtly and was not cleaned up before going to Beta.
