I am running Thunderbird 68.8.1 (32 bit) on a Windows 10 laptop. Sending and receiving email worked perfectly through yesterday. When I logged on this morning, every time I tried to send email, I got this error message "The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.mail.yahoo.com was lost in the middle of the transaction". I am receiving email just fine. I check the saved passwords and nothing has been changed for almost 3 months, so I am skeptical that this is the problem. I have tried re-booting and running Thunderbird in Safe Mode, but nothing helps. To send email, I have to go to my ATT/Yahoo web mail, instead of using Thunderbird.

So this is weird. All morning, thru about 1:00 pm, this problem happened 100% of the time I tried to send email. but as of now (3:00 pm) it has cleared up and emails are going out as normal. My configuration is the same as it was this morning and I've not re-booted since I last had the problem.

What was wrong???
