I have tried reloading Thunderbird (using 38.7); I have contacted my smtp provider and they claim all is well, and I have determined that my antivirus program is not the problem. I can send email but not receive, and this is the case for the all three of the computers that on which I use Thunderbird. I have no trouble, though, accessing this same email account through Godaddy where I can send emails without any problems. Thanks.

I guess this was a typo:
I can send email but not receive
as it appears to contradict everything else you have told us here.

Who is the email provider?

A typo yes. Thanks for catching that, Zenos; my apologies.

If by "email provider," you mean from whom am I receiving my internet connection, it is Xfinity. My server type is POP mail server and my server name is pop.secureserver.net.

I suppose that's really hard to guess, by "email provider" means from whom you receive your emails from. That can be the same as your ISP (Internet service provider - the one from whom you're receiving your internet connection) or someone else, e.g. like Gmail or Yahoo.
