Update (30 hours ago) to v13.0.1 re yahoonz-1.9 asks me to resubmit my password every 3 minutes.
Updated (auto 30 hours ago) Firefox to 13.0.1 (MAC) for the Yahoo! xtra Edition (Yahoonz-1.9). When using yahoo!xtra mail I am asked to resubmit password every 3 minutes. Have tried same email account using Chrome and Safari and do not get same problem. ISP (Yahoo! xtra) have checked from their end and together we rest that the problem rests in the updated version.

Try going into Tool/Options - Network Settings, and changing the proxy setting from AutoDetect Proxy to Use System Proxy, or No Proxy and that might get rid of the password pop-up problem.
