Linux Ubuntu (french), Firefox 36 (french), Vlc Multimedia Plugin, extension Shumway 0.10.203 tried the two , one at the time and I get the same result : Able to see video on You tube, just try site to purchase tickets for Disney on Ice, unable to see page to fill Also unable to see video or play games on Facebook always asking to update Adobe Flash player Search forums english, french, on the web and mozilla but nothing up to date regarding this situation for us in Linux. Did as suggested on mozillazine : sudo apt get ... 22.214.171.1242. last version of Adobe Flash https://blocklist.addons.mozilla.org/fr ... ocked/p830, mention is block by Firefox. So is there a way to tell Firefox each time to replace Adobe Flash by VLC or Shumway ex a command before firefox and that It will work.

OK, I DO NOT have to do ANY of the NORMAL tricks to solve this. So, PLEASE do not tell me to reset, or alter anything. IT IS FIREFOX 36 ITSELF at fault. Previous verion was running smoothly. VERY smoothly. After updating to 36, it went downhill quickly. FIRST I am CONSTANTLY getting SERVER NOT FOUND errors, and SECOND the browsing speed is SLOW. Now, these WILL NOT HELP NOR ARE THEY AT ISSUE: Reset Firefox My addons My AV My Firewall My Profile THESE ARE ALL THE EXACT SAME as in previous version. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE is it is now Firefox VERSION 36. Something in 36 is seriously broken. And yes it is the browser itself NOTHING ELSE.
Sorry about all the caps, but I am angry. Previous updates everything was good. But as soon as 36 installed, no longer good. I am now going to see about downgrading to my previous version just so I can surf again in a smooth and wonderful fashion. IF, and it is a BIG if Firefox's NEXT update fixes these issues, I will be happy to upgrade again then. But I am VERY nervous about ever upgrading again. Now, IF there may be a NEW setting you put into 36 that could be screwing up my surfing, PLEASE let me know so I can change it. I will wait for a bit before doing a downgrade.

I am finding that typing input just suddenly stops working in any window on Firefox. Restarting it gets it all working fine again but then at some point, especially if I have put my iMac to sleep it will stop working again after a short while. I've even gone back to 36 from the Beta program because it was such a pain.

When ever i watch videos i get memory leak, if that's the right word to call it, to avoid video lags i new use only 1 video Tab & not 2 like in the past, its just some sources are slow with loading, that why i use to use 2, awry time i click on next EP memory usage grows & awry time i click on full-screen it grows even more & larger number, depending source, some sources use RAM & some committed memory (but with both memory usage grows with each video), so far anime sources use committed & TV series sources ram, also there was talk that Firefox 36 will be free of Flash, that it goes over to HTML5, but i still see flash in my plugins & also all videos still use flash, with anime ram usage increases to a bit, but not as much as with TV series sources, when will the memory leak be fixed?
EDIT: lets just say it leaks memory when watching videos, its just worse in full screen, with TV series it doesn't matter full screen or not, still takes a lot of ram, well in the end of the day its a lot, starts from over 300MB & grows, some sources leak ram & some committed

This is a new install of Firefox. Everything works OK in Chrome or MSIE. I deleted google cookies and drive.google cookies, but no success. I have followed this advice: "You can set the Boolean pref network.cookie.thirdparty.sessionOnly to true on the about:config page to have third-party cookies act as session cookies." No success. I checked this: network.http.sendrefererheader - it is set to 2 (default)

I have no idea how to fix my current problem which is causing a great annoyance as my computer shuts down multiple times daily. Here’s what I know. Not only does my computer crash but my Flash Player is constantly crashing with Firefox displaying the message “the Adobe flash plug in has crashed”. I have the latest version of the flash plug (126.96.36.1995) in installed as well as the latest version of Firefox, (version 36.0). In response to these crashes, I followed whatever info I could to solve the problem with Flash, which included: updating all my drivers, plug ins are up to date, I have no viruses or spyware, and Windows are up to date. I have restarted Firefox in safe mode and the crashes keep happening. When looking at my reliability history in the Action Center, it shows over and over again that the all critical issues are due to “Plugin container for Firefox stopped working” with no solution offered.
What I find interesting is that while I’m working on my machine, Flash crashes but not my machine. The PC seems to shut down on being inactive for a period of half an hour. It also crashes whether I’m using Firefox or not. Also strange was this was happening before I installed and reformatted a hard drive and it’s still happening after a clean Windows 7 Prof install.
I am trying to keep Flash and Firefox on my machine. Help, what can I do to solve this issue. I am at a loss as to what to try next.

Was using v36 with no problems. Added a password to my WinXP Pro user account, system began updating file securities The file updates unexpectedly quit. Upon restart and logging into Windows, Firefox now shows "Server Not Found" error for every site (Chrome can get to same URLs) Did not actively update any firewall, security scanners, or connectivity settings Have tried different proxy settings and all the suggestions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can to no avail. Even tried to see if calls were being made through Fiddler -- they are not. Need more suggestions.

I have the latest Flash Player Plug-in 184.108.40.2065 but it seems to work on some sites and not others. It's generally fine for YouTube but my son likes to play on happyclicks.net and it doesn't work there . It also doesn't work on videos embedded in forums.
Below are all the add-ons etc I run.
I've tried disabling VLC but it still doesn't work. Once though I switched it to never activate Flash. Closed the browser started it again then put it to always activate and then it worked normally for a time.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have another simple questions.
1. I have download the version and its working (thanks for passing through the link in my previous question). Its working fine but it's keep showing a notification to update the Edition, and I did and restarted the browser and it's still asking, and the version is always the same. Is this a bug or is it actually Firefox team keep making updates?
2. Downloaded the extension of Livereload and its asking to update it, and it is already a updated version. Is there a good solution to get away with this?

First of all, I don't want an account at Mozilla just to ask this question. I also don't want to be asked every blessed day if I want Google as my default search engine. IT ALREADY IS!
I see this is a "promo pushdown" so I guess you're getting some money for it. That's great. But when I say "No thanks" or even when I respond "sure" -- I expect that to be the last of it.
STOP PROMPTING ME! GOOGLE IS ALREADY MY DEFAULT SEARCH ENGINE. STOP IT ALREADY!

I had opened ff and i got this empty msg bubble ( as in the newspaper comics ). It required an answer, but I had no idea what it was asking. The only thing that loaded on top line,i.e. firefox file edit view etc. was the word firefox. I could not go any further until msg was answered. I messed with this thing for three days and got nowhere. The only thing that I could figure out was that part of the software code was clobbered. I deleted and reloaded firefox, no luck. I got to the same point every time and the browser stopped. Fortunately I have Safari that was fully operational and was able to continue with the download of mozilla firefox for the Mac. I am using MAC OS X Lion 10.7.5 I finally conlcuded that the only way I was going to get this thing up and running was to delete/uninstall and empty the trash and recreate FIREFOX, which worked, but I LOST everything worse part was all the bookmarks. I can no way remember all of these NECESSARY bookmarks. However I do have, I believe, what is to be an old copy of Firefox. Can I find out if these are the correct bookmarks and if they are can I copy or import to get them merged back into the bookmark files on firefox.
I need some help.

Been having problems with V36 hanging on loading sites, and it seems that there was a change made in 36 in relation to DNS issues, Bug 1093983 apparently refers to it, and I can't determine the best course to resolve, do I revert to 35, and is that even safe to do without all manner of problems, or install the 37 beta,
As things are right now, this issue is causing significant slow downs on loading sites, and regular failures to load the site, which is not exactly helpful, so I can't just ignore this, I need to go with one of other of the above, unless someone can suggest a better option

I'll start by saying that i'm not the most tech savvy - but can do bits and pieces. Love Mozilla - but am having nothing but trouble of late after an update. Really at my wits end!
Mozilla updated itself to what i thought was the new 36 version, although going through the many troubleshooting processes again today, i stumbled across an option to update firefox - it stated i was running an old version. I used to get the odd flash/shockwave crash - but it always righted itself by me downloading a new one. (it has never shown as being out of date)
I am apparently running Windows 8, Firefox 36, plug ins - Open H264 (no clue what/where this came from), Shockwave Flash 220.127.116.115, Silverlight, iTunes app detector and some photo gallery thing- all up to date.
I have run through most of the troubleshooting ideas in the forums. I'm now submitting crash reports every few minutes. I really cannot list them all! So i have the ones for my session today... I have just moved from an old pc running Vista to a new one running Windows 8.1. When I set it up the first thing I did was download the latest version of Firefox. Not sure what version I had on the Vista machine, but this is FF 36.0. Then I synced my FF onto my new pc. I immediately noticed how different it looked and quickly realized that it was because everything is smaller. Not just the font, but every element on the page. On Youtube for instance, actually on this page too, the columns are super narrow and don't fill up the screen. They don't reach the edges of the screen and have gaps in between them, and yes, the fonts are tiny. Zooming in makes everything bigger, but the layout still looks bad, the gaps remain, it's not a solution. I went into windows and tried messing with the resolution and it kind of worked, pages looked slightly better, but weren't back to "normal" AND then all the icons on the FF menu bar (arrows, home button, etc) were big blurry messes. Well, that was worse, so I undid the resolution tweaks and don't really know what to try next. Nothing I have found online really helps me as I am technically challenged and have no idea what a prefconfigdssccdlxeieio is! It also appears that most people had this problem a few years ago. Sorry I'm late, but PLEASE HELP!

So Firefox didn't quit even in task manager. I shutdown my comp and restarted and then when I closed firefox, it wouldn't open again saying that it was already open and I tried to force quit it in task manager but would not quit. So I uninstalled it and deleted all possible firefox related files, but firefox.exe is still showing in task manager processes and won't quit. Help please.

When I try to install addon from outside official Mozilla store, I always get this error: "This addon couldn't be downloaded because of a connection failure on [website name]". I often don't want use Mozilla's addon page because Mozilla is extremely slow to accept updates. LastPass hasn't been updated for over year, on the official website a new version of the plugin was released yesterday on March 2nd 2015. The pace of development is fast.
