recent firefox update new problem
Hello again. Re my very recent post about a game on facebook functioning very slowly after the latest update, I now discover a worse problem with a word-game on a different site that I have also played for years on Firefox. Basically, after the new update, I find that I am no longer allowed to complete a move. Given the now 2 problematic situations I have, do I now with great reluctance have to abandon Firefox?

Hi,
Could you please give the names of the games you experience troubles with?
Hello Denys
Thank you for your enquiry. One problem seems to have solved itself (could've been a site problem). But the other has definitively not. I am talking about Facebook WWF2 or words with friends version 2. Takes ages to load, finally does randomly then stops and intermittently a message appears saying this site is slowing Firefox down. It never has before and never appears on any other site. I am now forced to play on duckduckgo, downloaded because of this specific problem. Works there perfectly. However. I still prefer Firefox but I play a lot of (scrabble-like) games and it is very frustrating indeed!
I play on an intel i5 laptop. The laptop has vastly more unused space than used.
Hope this might help get to the bottom of things. Thanks Steve
Thank you for sharing that! Is it https://apps.facebook.com/wordswithfriends?
For me, it loads almost instantly. Could you please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue?
- Please check if you have Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) enabled. You can do that by clicking the shield
icon at the left of the address bar.
- If ETP is enabled, try disabling it. Does the problem persist?
- If the problem is not fixed, try clearing Firefox cache. Does it help?
- If it does not help, also try clearing cookies and data for the website you experience troubles with (warning: you will be logged out on this website). Does it help?
- If it also does not help, try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode. Does the problem persist?
Looking forward to your update!
