Firefox stopped working and won't install after I uninstall and reinstall.
Firefox stopped working one day. It would not load anything. I followed the directions and completely uninstalled and then reinstalled Firefox. It goes through the process and then says Firefox will load momentarily. It never does. Also, what do you have against hiring people to answer questions in person?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems. See "Creating a profile":

I assume you are posting from a different system than the one that has the problem? Is that also a Windows Vista system?
If you have done a number of installations or updates on the system with the problem, have you shut down and restarted Windows? Sometimes the installer has deferred several file updates to your next restart and just behaves abnormally until after that queue has been cleared.
It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
