How do I set up Local Folders for individuals and organizations where I save email from them and my responses to them in 45.5.1?
Over years using TB I've used Local Folders to keep posts on specific topics to and from people and organizations. As part of a Fedora upgrade, I now have TB 45.5.1 and I haven't been able find a way to set up new Local Folders. I've clicked on Files, Edit, etc., Local Folders and and came up empty-handed.
It's similar to my wandering around in Mozilla Support while I worked out how to get here. Neither of which have I done for some time. 8~)

Right click the entry named "Local folders" and select new folder from the menu.
Likewise the option on the file menu will change from sub folder to folder when the Local folders entry is selected.

Local Folders is pretty much hard coded into Thunderbird and effectively impossible to remove. Are you saying you don't have a Local Folders in your Thunderbird?
The general solution to creating new folders is to select where you want to create the folder, right-click and select New Folder (or sometimes, New Subfolder).

Hi Zenos, thanks for responding,
I do have LF, the ones I accumulated (in alphabetic order) in the past as well as those that come with the new TB install ( 45.5.1 ).
When I left click on one of my added folders those saved come up.
When I then right click the popup gives me “Subfolder” which is part of the clicked-on folder.
Also in the popup is “Favorite Folder” which doesn’t give me anything on a new folder.
