Hi Matt, I am surprised at your statement "It has no real meaning." Are you saying that AVG does not scan e-mails for problems?

I am saying adding that line at the end adds exactly Zero to the equation, but it does break S/Mime mail signing and is a handy dandy bit of spam you send to everyone with your mail.

Think about it. Do the recipients read your message and decide not to scan that incoming message/ Nope, already scanned before they see it. Or Not going to be scanned because that person ort their security programs do not scan email. So it adds exactly Zero.

Then there is the issue of what purpose does this scanning actually serve? You computer is Virus free. AVG says so. Every file load and new process starting is scanned to prevent a virus getting into memory. Exactly where is this virus they are scanning your email for come from.

If you do have a virus in the mail. If AVG or any other product has missed it's arrival in memory and in the files that have been opened. It is not going to find it in the mail. This is the same analogy as if I sent you to a local cafe and asked you to meet BOB. It you do not know what BOB looks like or sounds like. you could meet him there or in the door as your arrived or on the street out the front and be none the wiser because you don't recognize BOB.

Personally I would say you are going i the right direction. It is nothing more than advertising for AVG. It has no real meaning.

You will not get support for the feature here, as it is nothing more than spam added to the end of all your mails. But if you really like it, you might ask AVG about it.
