Android app is Missing Spam Folder. A Yahoo filter on the server moves important emails to the spam folder. The spam folder does not sync with my other folders. Yahoo places these messages inside the Thunderbird app but they cannot not be read, I cannot find the folder, I cannot sync the folder, and the app does not give any other option on the setting panel. On my phone I have to have both the Firebird and the Yahoo App to see all folders. How can I fix it_

Greetings, I must say I'm perplexed and dumfounded with my problem. Without rhyme or reason, when I check my email throughout the day I will notice that the email has not synced for a period of time. I then go to check my settings, in particular, the fetching email setting and the sending email setting, and when I test them to determine that they are working I get the screen that explains there is a problem with syncing. I then look at the passwords and they appear to be old passwords that are no longer used nor valid. I delete the old passwords, input the current and valid passwords and then test the connection and synchronization and they rapidly sync without any errors. I have 4 emails registered in my Thunderbird account and it happens randomly to all 4of the emails. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. Needless to say, I spend a bit of time continually having to go to settings, delete the old password, enter the new one, and then everyone good. At least for a short while. I'm not sure if I stumped you guys with this one, or, hopefully, someone else has experienced the same thing. Duplicity if this problem excited me, not because the problem exists, but because sometime else has experienced the same thing and I would feel at ease knowing that I am not going insane. I hope you guys can help me with this. Please let me know whatever steps you think I should take to start sleuthing for a solution. My fingers are crossed. Also, I would like to extend many thanks and my gratitude for the tireless effort you all contribute selflessly to the support and maintenance of a wonderful app, and the continual persistence of if the project for all these years. Oh I almost forgot to mention that I saw a link for the opportunity to use/test the Beta Version, but suddenly I am unsure a to whether I should proceed with setting the beta up. I'm not sure if it will complicate the potential for a solution to my problem, or if the Beta App is completely separate and isolated from the Current stable release. Functionality and usability issue: I use the Thunderbird for Android app as an adjunct to my desktop installation. Recently I had occasion to reply to an email in Android to one "to" recipient and needed to add two "cc" recipients, but found no way to add the cc recipients without deleting the existing cc recipients and having to input the entire (dynamic) group again, but then was also stymied by that. How best to handle this issue?

Other than that issue, the lack of desktop contacts synching, and the lack of spam filtering, Thunderbird for Android has been a huge help, so thanks to the developers for their dedication and hard work.

The app itself sorts ubread mail at the top, this is obviously vert useful. What seem strange is that the home screen widget does not do this. That setting would be doubbly useful on the widget where a quick peek to see what is what is the entire point.

Is there a way to configure the widget to also do this type of sorting?

Using Thunderbird for Android on my phone to access several email accounts. But it's not showing up as an option for mailto:: links in Firefox (my default browser).

Is there a setting I'm missing?

I have exported a from my Debian linux GnuPG private ed25519 keyring a private armor format private.asc file for upload into my mobile OpenKeyChain (showing healthy) and imported on my mobile thunderbird version 21.1 the private key from OpenKeyChain.

When receiving an encrypted email, my thunderbird PC version decrypts while my Mobile thunderbird show an error in decryption operation: I can read encrypted email on my PC, not on my mobile.

When I send a encrypted message From my mobile TB exact identical key to another of my email addresses, the email received into my mobile TB is automatically showing decrypted. This email is also decrypted on my PC thunderbird.

The TB account on both devices are the same. The private key is the same. The email provider is the same. The email addresses are identities of the the same key.

I have had this problem before. I have resolved this in the past and can no longer figure out how.

Any intuition? cheers.

I'm not sure where to go with feature requests, I didn't find that at all on my mobile... But, let me shoot, and you shoot me down if I wasted your time.

1. I would like to be able to archive directly from the Android notification. That's currently not an option.
2. I would love to have the time stamped directory option for archiving that we have on desktop. Right now on Android we can only go the to the "archive" directory.

So, what I really do now, as I read most of my e-mails on mobile, but do some specific processing on desktop, is mark it either as read or archive it on mobile. Then I go to desktop and archive it again...

Description When attempting to debug synchronization issues in Thunderbird for Android, the application freezes or crashes immediately upon tapping Export logs. Real-time log monitoring reveals that this is not an internal application crash, but a cascading failure triggered when Thunderbird invokes the native Android dumpstate framework on a device with severe system partition corruption. Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to Settings > General settings > Debugging.
  2. Toggle on Enable debug logging and replicate the primary mail issue.
  3. Return to the Debugging menu and tap Export logs.

Expected Behavior The app packages local IMAP/POP3 commands and synchronization records into an exportable text file.

Actual Behavior

The app freezes. The underlying Android logging engine (logd) is completely dead, preventing the file generation tool from completing its routine. Diagnostic Log Excerpts The system-wide dumpstate utility explicitly fails to capture data because the device's logging directories are missing or corrupted:

logcat: Logcat read failure: No such file or directory

command 'logcat -L -b all...' failed: exit code 1

Furthermore, critical Hardware Abstraction Layers (HALs) return null pointers, suffocating UI threads when input fields are called:

This issue is entirely environmental and not a flaw in the Thunderbird application codebase. Thunderbird successfully renders its interface (MessageHomeActivity), but when it commands the OS to compile diagnostic logs, the host device's broken firmware crashes the calling process.

I am experiencing an issue where the built-in debugging features in Thunderbird for Android are not working as expected. I am trying to troubleshoot an issue, but the debugger is failing to generate or export useful information. This is observed on Pixel 9 Pro. Running Thunderbird v21 from F-Droid.

Not sure if this is in the latest update, but if I select a message, the top of the screen (where we are notifications and battery level) turns into a black bar. This happens in, both, the unified mailbox and a specific mailbox.

Is this a bug or normal behaviour?

Mail notifications remains on the home screen and need to be removed manually. I had expected them to be removed after reading the mail or marking it as read. A notification summary with the number of received mails instead of a notification for each mail, as an option, would have been nice. /Sten

I would like to report what appears to be a bug in Thunderbird for Android.

I use a POP3 account with the following settings:

POP3 Port 995 SSL/TLS

The same account works correctly in Thunderbird for Windows.

The problem only occurs in Thunderbird for Android.

What happens:

New emails arrive and are initially displayed in Thunderbird for Android. After the next synchronization, some messages disappear from the Inbox. The messages are not deleted from the server because they are still visible in Thunderbird for Windows. I also tested the same POP3 account in Samsung Email on the same Android phone. Samsung Email continues to show the messages correctly while Thunderbird for Android no longer shows them.

Troubleshooting already performed:

Reinstalled Thunderbird for Android. Removed and added the account again. Tested on both my Android phone and Android tablet. The same problem occurs on both devices.

Is this a known issue with POP3 accounts, or is there another setting I should check?

It is very painful to move each email message at a time to another folder. There is a requirement for selecting multiple messages and moving them to a folder. Want to know if this feature is available and if not would like to request it.

I realize that I can select all the messages in either the trash or the spam folder and then delete them, but the empty trash button does not work in version 21.0. it worked perfectly in the prior versions.

When moving emails to folders, it is very difficult to find a folder in a long list of folders. Is there a way to mark frequently used folders as favorites so they appear at the top of the folder list?

The options for my folders are all generic

Specific folders
