I just installed Linux Mint. I am new to Linux. Firefox came with it. In the Firefox help/about, I see that updates have been disabled by your organization. I am just a single user. There should bot be any enterprise policy applicable. Why did I get this and how to get rid of it?

Any help appreciated.

I have a Mac - version MacOS High Sierra. I am an 'oldie'. I wish to add an additional email address in Mail {to enable me to register with a new Doctors Practice as well as my hubby] but cannot as I am told that the version is not secure enough. For years I have shared my husbands email address [neither of us are technically trained or minded]. I have attempted to update my Firefox version but cannot do so as my menu does not show the 'About Firefox' option from where I hope to begin. Can anyone please advise me how I can update Firefox plus add an additonal email in my Mail option. Fairly simple instructions would help. I would appreciate any assistance that anyone can give please.

Hello everyone, i have Linux/Ubuntu software with Firefox browser and for 5 months it has not asked me to update, with it's pop up message. Now it is urgently asking me to update, i have followed the directions given in order to download the latest Firefox version as instructed but with no success. I am downloading it, but it doesn't have an instruction to "run" it. As a consequence, my system is getting slower and slower and i am afraid it will crush! Any ideas? Sooooos!!!

A file called 'Pending Pings' appeared within the folder in which my Firefox installation is located. I last used Firefox on May 14, 2025. I don't know how it appeared as I disabled automatic updates and made it so it would ask me if I wanted an update, so I do not know why it is.

While using Debian 12 on two workstations running version 136 the "update available" would appear on the screen and remain on the screen with no option to update or cancel.

Because this happened on 2 Debian 12 workstations, i would like to know if this is a known problem as I updated 139.01 an the issue continues.

You will noticed in the screen capture update available has no options other than "learn more"

I keep getting a small box that appears in the upper right corner of my yahoo email home screen that says it is from Firefox and asks if I want to upgrade to the latest version of firefox. If so click here and the upgrade will be installed and your open website connections will still be open once it has been accomplished.

I'm nervous about just believing anything that is presented or pitched to me on the internet.

Upon accessing the firefox website just now under upgrades it says that upgrades to firefox will be made automatically as appropriate, but if I want to manually install an upgrade there is a way to do it.

      • Is the small box offering to upgrade my firefox browser actually from firefox? Or some scammer?

I'm thinking that if upgrades are done automatically, why would I get this box asking me if I want to install the latest upgrade?

I've always specified in settings that I want to be notified of updates so I can choose whether and when to apply them (rather than have them applied automatically), but I periodically get the message I've attached here, which inconveniently wipes out everything on my Private Browsing page. How do I stop this?

I am repeatedly getting this pop up window after starting my computer and selecting the Firefox icon in the toolbar to start the browser. When using the Firefox browser I always update Firefox when prompted, so it should be the latest version, unlike what it states in the popup window. If I want to use the browser, I have to sign in to the browser and sync my data and I have to re load all my tabs from my history. It is time consuming to the point where my colleagues who were using Firefox have uninstalled Firefox and are now using a different browser. I could do the same...but I want a solution. I'm using Windows 11.

Why is there constant updates?. It seems like everyday there is one and it's annoying. The updates seem to add like stupid shopping, having 80 tabs open and stupid crap like that. I am beginning to think Microsoft's Edge browser is the best even though it's a terrible browser. Also given the fact that Mozilla now wants to sell our browsing history to advertisers. Mozilla has decided privacy is no longer important now by selling our info for targeted ads. Seems like you want to collect as much of what sites we visit plus more telemetry to spy on us. If you piss enough people off, then they and myself are going to switch browsers. You have the nerve to ask for donations only to turn around and sell our information.
