Hi Folks, I tried to put this on Bugzilla and read all the pages and pages for nearly and hour and then was not able to get logged in. So if any of you guys out there have seen any of these problems, could you please report them? I've wasted so much time with all this that I have no more, and I'm just exhausted with it.

I Recently Upgraded to Firefox 128.1.0 ESR Windows 11 (I did not have ESR before - waited until version numbers for both versions were the same (128.0.0) before I switched so the profiles (presumably) would not be affected. However since the update to 128.1.0esr multiple problems have appeared. I switched to ESR because I just don't have time right now to deal with inadequately tested software. This should have been a beta (for those who have available extra time), not a roll-out (to those who are already underwater).

1. Both in Firefox and in two webmail applications (GMX & PROTON), pages appear blank (white text on white background) until SELECTED, then text appears and goes away when deselected. You cannot work with it that way. It doesn't happen with other browsers, such as DuckDuckGo - only in Firefox.

2. While going through Settings after so many glitches occurred, I selected Firefox DARK, to see how it looked, since I use it on my iphone, but it didn't work because many of the text items in various places were grey - grey on black is not readable. And in some cases, it was apparently black text on black background that would only appear if selected. When I tried to choose "light" again (or automatic) in FF settings, it still leaves SOME scattered pages dark/unreadable, this includes some options pages for FF extensions.

3. The drag & drop to rearrange the order of items in extension "AutoPinTab" no longer works - it does nothing at all. I think the drag icons are not actively detecting mouse touches.

4. Settings/General/Startup "Open previous windows and tabs" box is NOT checked, but FF does it anyway.

5. Other things in FF Settings and in FF Extensions no longer work right. I don't have time to go back through and detail each one right now. I'm so behind because of all these problems. One fix will likely fix other related problems (or even seemingly unrelated ones).

6. In Settings/Manage Your Extensions - "Reset all Add-ons to Update Manually" does not work. It doesn't change anything in any extension from DEFAULT or ON to OFF.

7. "Always Show"is checked for "Bookmarks Toolbar", but although the space for the bar appears, the only thing on it is the "For quick access, place your bookmarks here on the bookmarks toolbar" and "Manage bookmarks...." I can find NO way to get the actual bookmarks back onto the bar - In the right-click context menu that offers "Menu Toolbar" "Bookmarks Toolbar" and "Customize Toolbar", the Bookmarks Toolbar is set to "Always Show" but it no longer works, and won't show the bookmarks. I'm sure this is something the update did - I recall something similar many years ago. The bookmarks are on my drive and FF can access them very clumsily in a time consuming, confusing, round-about way, but they are NOT on the Bookmarks Toolbar any longer and there appears to be no way to get them there.

8. Extensions. Now, some of the extensions will not put their icons up on the toolbars, nor do they all work as they say they do, or as they did. Firefox is becoming unusable for me. There is more, but I'm going to send this for now, hoping someone has some idea what is going on - maybe fixing one bug will fix others too. The missing bookmarks and the white-on-white and black-on-black text, especially in GMX and PROTON email (which only occur when using the Firefox browser to access them) are what's killing me - I don't have time to learn another browser right now.

Are there any plans to address all the current problems in a timely way? It would be much better to wait, to wait until everything has been properly tested before putting onto the machines of people who may not have the luxury of time to debug it for you.

I am so frustrated and stressed right now. I hope someone can offer some ideas and will let Firefox Bugzilla know. I tried but was not successful. Right now, I just feel like crying. Watch all this be something I'VE done wrong, from sheer exhaustion !! --AnneF .

when trying to access our online banking with servus credit union it blocks access yet we can access it using firefox on our laptop or our phones this has been going on for about a month now and I would like to get it straightened out .

I am unable to use my bill pay with my bank using Firefox browser. However, I am able to use it logging on with Microsoft Edge. What has changed with Firefox recently? This has only become a problem as of today.

How do I disable the automatic reordering of typed tags in my bookmarks? Fore example if I add tags "programming, javascript" its automatic change to "javascript, programming". I want to decide the order of the tags myself.

So i have trouble with viewing videos directly from google. I often need to go to youtube to view the video. Not a huge problem but still annoying when wanting to just watch some part quick. Here: is a video showing the problem. Do anyone know how i can fix this?

I get a weird green mark on the top left, which looks like some type of greenscreen cursor input thing. I have seen it on Gmail. Not sure where else. Last time was a while ago.

This is on Windows 11. Just worried if this is some type of backdoor thing.

I am using Firefox with Linux. Any time I open YouTube, I need to log in with my gmail accout, requiring me to authentify my identity with my phome. I always use the same laptop. Is there a way to avoid this annoying thing so the laptop opens YouTube straightaway please? Seems like my Firefox account is not helping. The needing to continuosly log in recalls also for anything else (gmail, Netflix...). Using Chrome with Windows was better in that way.

Hello. I've installed OnePassword as my password manager, but it will not launch from Firefox when I am trying to login to sites and forget my password. Very frustrating.

Up until the last couple days I have been able, for years, to enter a search query in the search bar. It no longer works, but the bar is still there.

Will this be fixed? Kind of a deal breaker for me. I have this functionality with other browsers.

so i updated firefox after 2 years of not updating it and now i have a annoyance to my eyes

before my update i would click on the search on the toolbar and either type out my search and hit enter or that i would just hit enter and go straight to google/ amazon/ blah blah what ever i had it set at the time.

after updating firefox i now have a annoying pop up that pulls up recent search in said search function of the toolbar. i have tried going into the options and every thing is turned off in the "search suggestions". i have looked into the about:config because after the update firefox started suggesting on my URL bar my recent viewed pages and bookmarks which always hated that function and had to turn it off again.

yet i cannot find a away to turn off the recent search. and sometimes it even tried to suggest places / recent events in the search toolbar.

also that clicking the search toolbar and just hitting enter no longer takes me directly to the search engine... it just does nothing now unless if i type something in.

any way of fixing this? or am i just going to have to jury rig using a old firefox again?

I cannot sign in to the New York Times today; on their main page it will not allow me to sign in to my account. I have called them, and apparently it is Firefox that is the problem. I can connect to any and all other sites. I can connect and sign in to the NYTimes from my iPad as well, so I believe it is the version on my Windows 11 laptop that is the problem. I've cleared all cookies and history, restarted my computer, re-booted my modem even, and closed my VPN, all to no avail. I have version 129.0.2, and it is up to date. It was working yesterday just fine. Is there another update coming to correct this?

We’ve been facing an issue on our WordPress site for a couple of months that’s been very hard to fix, because for a long time I thought it was a server-side issue and just found out that it’s probably not.

Although we have plenty of server resources, high CPU/memory/timeout limits, etc., whenever I upload images that are more or less bigger than 8-10MB to WordPress, it fails in the processing step after exactly 30 seconds.

What I mean is: the upload finishes very quickly (I have a 1Gbps fiber connection), then I count 30 seconds after the WordPress’ upload bar has filled, and this error comes up: https://d.pr/i/XWVCbr

For SEO’s sake, it says: "The server cannot process the image. This can happen if the server is busy or does not have enough resources to complete the task. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2560 pixels."

Of course, smaller images aren’t an issue (probably because they finish processing before the 30-second limit). Another weird thing is that, even when WordPress presents that error, sometimes the large image does get successfully processed anyway. But not always.

As the error implies, for a long while I thought it was a server-side issue. We’ve looked into everything: PHP, Apache, ImageMagick, ModSecurity, Cloudflare… no good.

Long story short, I recently found out that this doesn’t happen at all when uploading images via Safari. I can even upload like a 40MB image, it will take a while to process, but it doesn’t ever stop/break at 30 seconds and always process it successfully.

So, what gives? Is this really a Firefox issue? I tried playing with lots of about:config settings related to some kind of 30-second timeout, but still haven’t figured it out. Also, I’ve tried disabling all add-ons/extensions, clearing caches/cookies and also hoping into Firefox’s Safe Mode, and have asked a friend to also try from his computer and the same thing happened to him on Firefox.

I am running Linux Mint 19 and when I tried to activate the container extension some options were not selectable and a msg appeared at the top of my settings: "Your browser is being managed by your organization" I am a home user and never had anything to do with any corporate PC. The policy it lists is: disableappupdate true. Everything I see in the help database for this pblm pertains to Windows. As I said above I am running linux mint.

what is going on here???

I would like to have different default search engines for the URL bar and the search bar. For example have a query typed in the URL bar use DuckDuckGo by default. But a query in the search bar use Google by default. I am aware that it's possible to use shortcut strings, use alt+arrows to cycle through the options, or select a different search engine from the icons. I'd like to be able to set them differently without any of that.
