Ever since I downloaded the latest version of firefox, my touchpad does not work on my laptop
This only happens when using Firefox. The touchpad works just fine for other programs. If I plug in a mouse, I can browse as usual.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Thanks for your reply, but that did not work. Though the problem initially didn't surface until I ran Firefox, now it is there all the time, even after restarting. It did happen immediately upon updating to 22.0, however, so I assumed that was the problem. It's VERY frustrating. I have to carry a mouse with me now and I only have one, plus I have to switch them out every time I want to use my personal laptop while I am working.
Start your windows in Safemode by pressing F8 key and check it out..
Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information such as bookmarks and history. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.
Try to modify the ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled pref on the about:config page from the default value -1 to 0 or 1 to see if that makes the scroll pad work.
Close and restart Firefox after changing the ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled pref.
- ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled (-1)(-1:autodetect;0:off;1:on)
