I will change my isp from at&t to time warner cable, will I be able to use firefox the same way?
Will I be able to use Firefox the same way after I change my isp from at&t to time warner cable?

NoScript is essential. The Windows 7 firewall is good. For antivirus, etc., I'm running Trend Micro Maximum Security. The list price is high, but there usually are substantial rebates available. Some ISPs now offer free versions of Norton or other software, but I don't know about Time Warner.

Firefox usually works with any available broadband connection, so you shouldn't have any problems unless you have made changes to your connection settings that tie them into your current account. You could check for that here:
orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced > Network
Click the Settings button in the Connection section. The most general settings are "Use system proxy settings" and "No proxy".
If you have been using AT&T's dial-up service, you might start Firefox differently, i.e., using a regular Firefox icon instead of a dialer.
Thanks for responding. I saw the "no proxy" button NOT checked. Is this the correct setting? Have at&t dsl right now. Will have time warner installed tomorrow night. I realize my questions may sound terribly elementary to you, but ...... Of course this will be the end of my att.net email service/address. Which email service would you use? Marty
Hi Marty, either of the two settings I mentioned is fine.
Some popular and portable web-based mail services include: Gmail, Yahoo mail, and Windows Live Hotmail. I generally just use my work email for everything, so I don't have any strong recommendations on those three.
You might want to arrange for a few months to transition your email (possibly free, possibly not) so messages to you do not all bounce and you can notify senders of your new address. Or if you are connected to all those people through social networks, maybe that's no longer necessary.
Thanks much for taking the time to talk with me and the info you provided. I can't think of any other question concerning my upcoming isp change. Anything else you can think of? Thanks Again, Marty
Just make sure you have good security software. :-)
COOL THAT YOU BROUGHT THAT UP! I use the free version of Avast and NoScript to block all those scripts that try to automatically load. That's it. What do you use? Marty

Really good to know that. I also have WinPatrol (Scotty The Watchdog) running in the background. Have you ever used TFC (Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer)? You think TFC is safe to use? Marty
I'm not familiar with either WinPatrol or TFC.
