Bookmark Star in the address bar is no longer optional after upgrading from 5.0.1. to 6.0. Clicking it will only send the page to unsorted bookmarks but it won't do anything when I click it again, whereas it is supposed to let me manage the bookmark location and other details or remove the bookmark. The problem persisted when I made a completely clean re-installation after removing everything including all add-ons, personal data and related folders. The button gets fully functional again when I roll back to 5.0.1. I am using Windows 7 64-bit

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
