I tried opening the following pdf file: http://www.deepwaterinvestigation.com/go/doc/3043/1047291/

One time, it gave the following response: The file is damaged and could not be repaired. The next time, it simply displayed a blank screen. When I tried opening the pdf file in Internet Explorer 9, it worked just fine.

I have the exact same problem and get the exact same error code: "The file is damaged and could not be repaired". I work in Adobe all day and constantly have to open and edit pdf documents. I never had this problem with my older version of Firefox. It is only since updating to Firefox 4 that I am unable to open certain pdf documents. I do not have the issue with smaller pdf files, just the larger ones.

Jason at 404 Tech Support reported a solution which is basically to go into Settings > Advanced > Network and increase/override the offline file cache. I had to restart after changing this but was then able to open the PDF in question.
