Firefox home page doesn't open when I click on Firefox. Have to go to File and click on New Window to get into Start Page.

If you close Firefox, then start Firefox in Safe Mode, does the problem still occur? For instructions on starting in Safe Mode, see Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
BTW, you really should upgrade to the latest version. See Update Firefox to the latest release
