Connection Problem

I tried to connect my user on my Online Accounts on Linux Mint, but it said: Authentication Failed, so i tried to open my accounts and send a message to myself. The message is sent and it appears a little window that says: Your Messages was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can try or save the messages locally to Local Folders/Sent-(my e-mail name).

Same happens with Troubleshoot Mode and I don't think it's a connection error, so what is the file access error in here?

I found the Local Folders and there are also: Trash, Unsent Messages and Filter Rules. The account is MAP, do i have to click Unsent Messages?

What you need to do is make sure the permissions on Sent and Local Folders allow you to write to them.

How is TB menu > Account Settings > account > Copies & Folders > 'Place a copy in:' set? See if trying the 'Other:' option works if that's not the one selected.

Nothing, same result. Thunderbird said that unfortunately they still don't have an Online Accounts feature, so on that i gave up. I still get the error window, if there is no solution it's fine tho!

Will copies save to Local Folder?

No, always connection or File error, it doesn't connect to IMAP.

Local Folders is unknown to IMAP, so it has to be a system files problem.

Where can I see the system files? Is it like another option to check on Thunderbird?

I meant OS file permissions. Is the account POP or MAP? In either case, Local Folders will be under the Mail folder in your profile folder. To open the profile folder:

- go to TB menu > Help > Troubleshooting Information

- click 'Profiles' near the bottom of 'Application Basics' > about:profiles

- for the profile in use, click the 'Open Directory' button for the Root Directory
