Thunderbird address book
Tried to export my address book file and got an error message. How do I transfer my address book of contacts from my desktop computer to my wife's laptop if I am getting an error from the export function?

Select the desired address book to be exported. Do not select 'All Address Books'. Click the 3 dots right next to the address book in the left pane - Export. Select 'LDIF' as file type.
Import the exported LDIF on the other computer. Press Alt or F10 in the main Thunderbird window to bring up the menu bar in case it is hidden. Select 'Events And Task' from the main menu bar or press Alt-N - Import.
Repeat the steps above if there are multiple address books to be transferred.

In any case, the Taskbar is a Windows thing, and I don't know what it has got to do with your problem. I was talking about the main menu bar in Thunderbird. For importing the calendar files please follow the steps as described above.
