Only in Private Mode Windows will there be no cache/history saved. Standard Firefox will have cache/history unless you clear or choose the option to clear when exiting.

You can set Firefox to not remember history by going to the 3-bar menu > Settings > Privacy & Security Under 'History' > Firefox will: choose 'Never remember history'.

Hopefully, that helps!

Selecting "Never remember history" is the same as using private browsing so you probably don't want to do that.

You can choose Use custom settings for history and select only what you want to remember. I have never tried selecting nothing.
