Changes in Firefox 89: I hate the new themes—where do I provide feedback?

I'd guess there's already a discussion regarding this, but I don't know where. Getting rid of the borders when there are multiple tabs open and turning things gray makes for a far worse browsing experience for me. Why would one string of undifferentiated text in a long line of tabs make things any easier? It does not.

I've found a helpful site that allows turning off the new theme, but a commenter advises that that option too will soon be disabled: https://www.askvg.com/tip-restore-old-classic-theme-and-ui-in-firefox-89-and-later-versions/

Is there an add-on that keeps the "classic" theme? I've googled how to provide feedback. One of those links is dead. What's the best way to make my thoughts known?

People love tech, but the older I get the more I see how it demonstrates a lack of ownership, that nothing is really yours on your devices, that what you're comfortable with is only one weekly update away.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.

@FredMcD, thanks. This requires another account separate from my Mozilla/Firefox account?

I don't know.

You can login with a Google or Facebook account as part of the supported social media logins, so you do not need to create a special account for this website if you can use such a login.

It may be with us for another month two months (Firefox 90 releases in mid-July).

Is there an add-on that keeps the "classic" theme?

Add-ons are not allowed to change the appearance of toolbars beyond modifying colors. This theme mimics the earlier "Default" theme (at least as it appeared on Windows 10, I don't know what it looked like on MacOS): https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/photon-colors/

If that color doesn't suit you, the Firefox Color extension lets you create your own theme: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/firefox-color/

To make modifications to the styling of the tabs requires delving into the community-supported realm of userChrome.css rules. Perhaps it's premature to look into it, but for future reference, I've got some information on my site here:

@jscher2000, thank you for the explanations on the limitations of add-ons and input on how to modify the tab style. Though the latter is probably above my pay grade, as the saying goes, I much appreciate the info.

Help => 'Submit Feedback'   should be renamed to something like   'Submit your Ideas', cause that's what  Crowdicity.com  (Ideas.Mozilla.Org)   is all about.

Edit:   removed link to outdated thread.

Feedback from regular users, accessible from the Help menu, was disconnected several months ago. You directed 777bb (and us) to a hyper-techie site for developers. This 'Ideas.Mozilla.Org' is a closed club for insiders only. It hides behind programese lingo and Mozilla speak. The Firefox using public apparently is just supposed to suffer in silence and get a pat on the head.

Hi plew29881, what kind of feedback did you want to leave? The purpose of the Crowdicity site is to crowdsource suggestions for improvement. I haven't submitted anything yet, so I didn't realize it was difficult to use. But I suspect that many suggestions related to the UI design have been submitted so you might only need to vote on an existing suggestion, or add comments to it.

Mozilla also monitors the Firefox subreddit, r/Firefox, at https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/

This is what I get for "enter feedback:" https://mozilla.crowdicity.com/

and this site won't accept my windows snipping tool screenshot.

NOT HELPING.

That crowdshitty site wants me to log on with FACEBOOK? or GOOGLE? Why can't I use my FF login that I use IN THIS GROUP? Sorry for yelling, but the answers I get from the "community" are boilerplate, don't work, and rarely address the info I spend time typing in here.

How many times must I say I do not want to use about:config? Seriously? My IT training consists of Intro to Basic, circa 1987. I am NOT a coder. If I knew more, I'd use Linux.

So basically you are sending us to a "help" site you have not even used yourself. Here is the feedback I want to submit: I WANT A RESPONSE FROM MOZILLA. They monitor a subreddit? Why not monitor THIS SITE? Don't they want to see how much anger there is at their sloppy downgrade?

I didn't send you anywhere.

Mozilla is aware of some people being unhappy with the Proton redesign. The same comments have been coming in for 8 weeks now.

Indeed. And if you bother to post a new idea, as I did, it sits unseen waiting for a moderator to approve it (which took a month or two, as I recall.)

Oh, what did you end up filing?

If you go to a specific category such as Customizing (https://mozilla.crowdicity.com/category/52933), there are filters in the left column for "Mozilla considering" and "Mozilla adopted" so you can get a sense of what has gotten some traction. (Screenshot attached) Unfortunately, there is a ton of duplication on the site, which I suspect is due to the poor search capability, and that is diluting votes.

My idea (https://mozilla.crowdicity.com/post/733830) still doesn't have many votes after 40 days. Probably poor marketing on my part. ;-)

Hi jscher2000, thanks for asking.

Here's what I submitted 3 months ago which was approved 3 weeks ago: https://mozilla.crowdicity.com/post/723371

And after your initial suggestion, I posted a comment to this thread: https://mozilla.crowdicity.com/post/720099

EDIT: I see now, it was FredMcD who initially provided the link to crowdicity, so thanks again to him, as well.

Thanks for asking, jscher2000. (I posted another response, edited it and now it's seemingly disappeared. So hopefully, it won't appear twice now.)

Here's what I posted 3 months ago but which has only been visible for 3 weeks: https://mozilla.crowdicity.com/post/723371

And here's the (edit: thread to which I submitted a comment) after FredMcD provided a link to Crowdicity: https://mozilla.crowdicity.com/post/720099
