Hi. Can someone tell me what checking a folder in "Items for Offline Use" dialog does?
I'm using IMAP and use Thunderbird as my desktop client. I have an Android phone and use AquaMail on this.
I'd had a problem with drafts from either client not syncing to the same folder.
I then found a post in which the poster stated that in Thunderbird they went to Tools->Account Settings->Synchronisation & Storage->Advanced and unchecked the Drafts box under the column "Download".
I tried this and lo & behold it worked. But what I don't understand is why; what does checking/unchecking this option do for the way a folder is handled?
I'm assuming it *doesn't* download the folder contents onto the client, as this is POP3...(!)
TIA
ivan

You know what they say about assuming! It does download a local copy to your computer so you can read the message contents when offline. Unlike POP, it leaves the original message on the server and the next time you are online it syncs to the server and refreshes the contents. Adding new and removing what was deleted.
So lets back up a little to "not syncing to the same folder". I would have thouht the settings in copies and folder that let you set the folder to use for Drafts and templates would be the place to make those changes.
All you have done is unsubscribe seeing/Synchronizing the folder you unchecked.
