I have been using Firefox Nightly for some time. It suddenly stopped working. It simply does not start. I am using windows 7 ultimate. I keep the OS updated. I also keep Firefox Nightly.

Please note that Firefox Nightly is a build of Firefox in the very early stages of development. This build is meant for testing purposes only, since it could be unstable. You should change to the standard release version of Firefox for your regular browsing.

If you are just testing Firefox Nightly, I would recommend reinstalling it from the Mozilla website. It's possible that the installation was damaged during an update. Reinstalling it will fix any damaged or missing files, while also preserving your Firefox data.

If that doesn't help, the issue could be with one of the settings or addons installed on your Firefox profile. Try opening Firefox in Safe Mode and see if you can get it to open that way. If it opens, then it's an issue with a setting, addon or hardware acceleration.

If it still does not open, file a bug report for the Firefox developers to take a look at.

The the more unstable Nightly development channel builds get checkins with two updates each day. Sometimes this can lead to issues until fixed, finished, or reverted.

You could try a previous Nightly build to see if that works as perhaps the issue may get fixed in a update hopefully soon if it is indeed a recent Nightly build issue.
