How to download full directories from the Mozilla FTP website?
How to download directories from the Mozilla old Firefox version website? https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/
On macOS Sierra. I've used programs like DownThemAll but I can't get them to download the whole version directory. None of the guides online help.

You worded this as download full directories in the title and not as downloading a specific Firefox version and that made us think that you were after downloading more than one Firefox version. Each version listed on the releases page on any Mozilla server contains this Firefox version for all operating systems and all languages like posted above in case you weren't aware of this. If you want a specific Firefox version then browse sub directories until you are at the DMG file for Mac OS X.

Note that will give you all Firefox versions for all supported platforms (win, win64, linux, linux64, mac) in all (90) languages and all (90) language packs (could be about 1000 files for each release). I don't think that you would want all these files and this would pose a very heavy load on the server. I assume that you would only want a specific language for Mac since you posted with a Firefox version of that platform.

why do you want to overload or crash the service for others?
I just want to try downloading an older version of Firefox because, shocker, I have another unsolved issue.

Why do you want to force all this bandwidth then?
Down grading Firefox is generally a bad idea, and you would be safer using an alternative browser.
I see we answered your other thread /questions/1164374 and so you are now aware that wget may be used for that sort of thing. However
- If you have problems downgrading Firefox may not help,
- but if it does help we would like to know what problem it solves, as others may have the same issue and it may be something that went wrong and needs fixing.
- See also (Do Not) Install an older version of Firefox
- If you let us know what the problem is we may be able to help with solving that problem.
- If you do need to downgrade you do not need all the files in the ftp directory
- Firefox itself is able to download files from ftp sources.

Here is my problem that I posted a couple days ago.

Do you honestly think I'm "trying to crash" a server? I asked how to download something. Try contributing something next time instead of being annoying.
Yes you asked "How to download directories from the Mozilla old Firefox version website?" i.e. what cor-el said.
About the annoying part...

You really belittled someone that has no technological ability on a tech support site. Nice job, you win. I still don't know what's wrong with wanting to download an old Firefox version or why that would overload a server.
You were suggested to not download a older version. I would suggest do so then update to FF54 as that has solved my issues before. As for all this stuff and links have you tried a FTP program like Filezilla ?
If this solves your issues please come back and mark as solved
Note that you should only download Firefox from the Mozilla server - c

We only told not to download full directories since you only need one version (platform, language) and not thousands of files from all supported locales (current over 90). You can download just the version and only that version for your platform (Mac OS X) and language (en-US).
You shouldn't use other websites apart from the official Mozilla server to download Firefox because all versions are present on the Mozilla server.

Okay, here's an example. Maybe this will clear things up.
Let's say I want to download this version: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/25.0.1/
That is one big directory, right? There's no way simply from the browser to download every single file, right? I would have to download every individual file, right? So HOW do I download THAT directory? I don't want to download every single file on that page.
Use a FTP program

You don't have to.

Hope this helps.
You should note that more than one version of Firefox may be installed at the same time. If your machine has the resources you may even run Firefox versions simultaneously side by side for comparison, however that is not a good idea if you are running in to issues with performance or lack of memory.
If you do run an additional version of Firefox make sure you create a new profile for that version
If you do want to try an older version I would not try Firefox 25 I would suggest you try Fx52esr at least that is updated with critical security fixes. (Mainly intended for corporate use but that does not prevent you from trying it of you wish)
- See https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/faq/
- Download link for Mac en-US https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all/ => https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-52.2.0esr-SSL&os=osx&lang=en-US
I note you also have another question open, but as I am not a Mac user I think it better that someone else tries to answer that:
- macOS Sierra 10.12.3 Flickering video? /questions/1164038
Your example asking about Fx25.0.1 for en-US language just download this single file
- https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/25.0.1/mac/en-US/ => https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/25.0.1/mac/en-US/Firefox%2025.0.1.dmg
Although as I said earlier it is not really a good idea to use old unsupported unsafe versions of Firefox.
You can go to 'mac' and then go to 'en-US' if you want that language version. There you find Firefox%2025.0.1.dmg
- https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/25.0.1/
- https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/25.0.1/mac/en-US/
You can also construct a specific download URL. Then you only need to know the version number.
A keyword (fxosx) bookmark would be. Name: fxosx (for easy remembering the keyword) Location field: https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-%S&os=osx&lang=en-US
You can invoke the keyword bookmark with via the location/address bar by typing keyword and version number: fxosx 25.0.1
