Hi! I just noticed that the Firefox I'm using is 32-bit. After reading related questions, I learned that seeing the bit information was only added to the most recent updates, so I guess I never delved into this information in the over 15 years of using Firefox. My laptops are both 64-bit, so I guess I've been using the wrong one all along, & I've always had quirky issues with Firefox, (e.g. extreme slowness, frequent freezing, etc.), so I'm wondering if it's because I'm using the wrong one. Are there noticeable advantages to making the switch from 32-bit to 64-bit? Will I have issues with add-ons & extensions, or will it be worthwhile to make this switch? Do I have to uninstall the 32-bit I'm using now, & will I lose my bookmarks, & other important information if I make this change? I don't like to change things on my already "moody" laptops, but I'm wondering if my displeasure with Firefox is because I'm not using the right bit-version for my devices. I don't even know what the difference is between the 32 & 64-bit downloads...is it considered a version or is it something else? I honestly don't know what to call it, so pardon my lack of knowledge on this subject. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read & respond to my questions. Any & all hints, instructions & tips will be greatly appreciated! All the Best, Nuts4Mutts

In older Firefox versions only Flash and Silverlight were supported in 64 bit Firefox versions. In the current release only Flash is supported, so there is no need to stay with a 32 bit Firefox version

Note that the System Details list shows that you have multiple Flash plugins.

  1. Shockwave Flash 25.0 r0
  2. Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.

You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.
