Crash ID: bp-6c4cfdbd-5f0d-4e7b-9158-11c862160811

I have a fresh install of Windows 10 Enterprise (64-bit), running on a new Dell laptop.

Every time I attempt to open Firefox it crashes. It will not start in safemode. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it. That didn't work. I "refreshed" firefox, and that got it to open, I was able to verify I have no add-ons, but firefox crashed when I clicked on extensions. After that I was no longer able to get it back open (after repeated restarts, I was rarely given the "refresh firefox" option and now when I am it still crashes all the same.

Interestingly enough, uninstalling (and manually deleting all of the leftover FireFox files), and then reinstalling using the offline installation files worked!

Thanks - I updated my NVIDIA driver, restarted, still can't use open Firefox. Crashes in safemode or after a refresh.

Anymore thoughts?

hi, unfortunately this crash is caused by websense endpoint security software that is running on a device. please make sure that all its components are up-to-date. in case your computer is part of a managed enterprise environment, please get in contact with your it department about this issue again. more information is available in bug 1181091.

in a larger enterprise using the extended support release (esr) version of firefox, which receives security updates but feature updates only once every 10 months, might also be a better option compatibility-wise: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/faq/
