Dear Sirs,

Let me expose my problem. I don't really know if it's a FF issue or StartSSL, but here's what happened : I took Express Lane at StartSSL.com to generate a server-side SSL certificate.

In order to do this, we have to be authentified as the owner of the domain, and a local personnal certificate is generated and installed in the browser.

Even if I have been successfully authenticated, I can't see, nor backup this certificate in the FF settings page. The box is deseperately empty.

I also tried to import another certificate I generated last year. I had a "Success" popup saying this was successfully imported. But nothing.

I finally backed-up the cert8.db file, and pasted another one from older Profile, and I was able to see certificates in the box.

I suspect cert8.db to be corrupted. May I retrieve this certificate in any kind of workaround ?

Hello, Thank you for answering.

The link is related to server certificates. My problem is about local personal certificate used to authenticate on a website (startssl.com).

When you open the Certificate Manager, personal certificates should be listed on the Your Certificates tab. Since the Certificates Manager may have opened to a different tab by default, make sure to check for your certificate on the "Your Certificates" tab and hopefully you can use Backup to export it for safekeeping and later importing into a new/different cert8.db file.

See:

Thanks mate ! That solved my problem.

certutil let me know that my certifs were not lost, while not showed by FF and pk12util tool let me export my certificates to reimport in fresh new database.

Note for Windows users: I found compiled binaries here: https://www.felixrr.pro/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/nss-3.13.5-nspr-4.9.1-compiled-x86.zip

Thanks again.
