I am on Mac OS X 10.9.5, I have lost the bar on the left (Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Archives, Trash) and the bar across the top (Get mail, write, chat, address book, quick filter, search, and the three little bars with additional menu items). I can read incoming mail and reply to it but I cannot initiate a new email, search for an old one, find sent files or access my address book.

Edit: removed phone# from public.

On a PC you can use the alt key or F10 to make hidden menus and toolbars appear. I am not sure if they work on a MAC though. Do you know of any keystrokes on a MAC that will do the same? This is all I could find about hidden toolbars on a MAC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3537

If an when you get the menu bar to appear, select View-Toolbars and turn the missing toolbars back on. You will have to do this in each window with missing toolbars.

I tried all the function keys and none restored my tool bars, but one gave me a Find function to locate words in the text of the current email. Not what I was looking for.

On the very top menu bar on the screen the View option has a Toolbar option which solved the problem, I believe it was obscured earlier when the window went full screen and I couldn't reduce it.

All set now.
