When Thunderbird is started in full screen it overlap taskbar if is set to hide and taskbar won't show until Thunderbird is minimized and maximized. Another way is to press the Win key two times. Then the hided taskbar can be shown/use. The same thing happens to Firefox. Only when is first started. Then if Firefox is minimized and maximized, press Win key two times, press F11 two times then the hided taskbar show/hide normal.
It is a setting that can be changed to start Thunderbird and Firefox in full screen and do not overlap hided taskbar?

Hello, so finally this happens to me too. I lost all my emails in Inbox before August 2025. I think it happened after one of these usual alerts 'you should compress emails'. I did this in the past 6, 7 years and nothing was lost so far. I also have plenty of space on my computer, that's not a thing. I tried a couple things I found in web but doesn't help. Couple emails that I had for example in an 'important' folder are still there. I'm really annoyed. I didn't had a glue at all that this compression alert will delete files in the inbox one day, only those in the trash box. Maybe there is a last chance to get them back but I'm afraid that they are gone forever and I will put everything from my inbox into an other folder in future or maybe even better go back to Apple Email where this never ever happened in the past 25 years.

On Windows 10, with Thunderbird 140.7.2esr : when clicking on http/https links in messages, I would like to make thunderbird opening my web browser but in private mode, while this mode is not the default one. I know the flag to use to run the browser in private mode from a command line, and it works. But i do not know how to declare it for/in Thunderbird. Mistral answered me that there is a network.protocol-handler.http param to set, but i have not found it or somewhat similar in the config editor. Any help would be welcome. Even better would be to be able to choose through a contextual menu how to open the link, as it is possible in the web browser. Thank for any hint.

I replaced this PC with a Dell able to use Win 11 (although subsequently learned it was a forced installation). The newer PC has now failed and I am tryhing to use the older Win 10 model to get back into communication. Automatically generated passwords, often having been changed, were stored on the newer PC. Now I cannot access them to log in to Thunderbird. Important passwords stored on this PC may not reflect te true picture. I am also not the most tech savvy user! Email responses will probably not get through.

This has occurred following a problem with the same folder where several emails went missing, which I managed to restore with the Repair Folder function. Thought I might try looking in the file (not the MSF, the other one), but it's far too big for any text editor to open.

Transferring Thunderbird from the system above to the system noted above. Follow the instructions from here on the Mozilla Support page (copied both "Thunderbird" directories into the Roaming and Local destination directories. When the destination machine installation opens, it is functional (i.e. it picks up all the existing e-mail accounts, downloads new mail, etc...). The problem starts when we get to the local folders.
All of these have a date and time appended to them in the destination installation. For example, if the original folder is "Prosperity Bank" the destination folder is labeled "Prosperity Bank (2025_09_21 23_06_33 UTC)" and will not let not populate (shows no messages inside).
As I am typing this, it seems I may have identified the problem (or at least part of it). It seems the destination system install is slowly working its way through the local folders randomly (not in alphabetically order), as it seems to be slowly populating them with the old mail stored therein on the original system. It is going very slowly. Very slowly.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal? Is there any way to quickly eliminate the dates now appended to the local file names? (Visually this is very annoying and I do not want to try modifying the individual folder names yet until I'm sure its populated as much as it will populate.)

I just started having a issue where it will be for example noon , and I just get a email , that is not on top but down the list and it says 9am , or similar times where it is 1 or more hours later from the time on the email , but it just showed up , but its down on the list of recent emails , so for example I check emails and a few come in or I get a notice that I have a new email
I have Thunderbird minimized in the taskbar , I never close it , and it will show a email from a few hours ago that just came in , but its below emails that I have already read that were after that time , so basically its like some emails just randomly appear that didn't get delivered when they were supposed to along with the others at that time , this is not a 1 time thing , this has happend several times over the last few days
I can't find any Setting that allows me to choose Newest Emails on Top , or to check the Time to see if it thinks its a different time of day than it is when delivering , or to bring in emails in order of delivery time , newest first and so on , so if a email has a Delivery time of 9:38 am I actually recieve it at 9:38 am , for example I got a email showing the time at 12:48 PM as delivered (10 minutes ago , but I just got the email now at 12:58 am) , then I got one time stamped at 11:15am , and 11:13 am , and at 9:38 am , , the 9:38 am email came AFTER I got the 11:15 email by about 30 minutes , and the one I just now got (it was 12:58pm when I got it , but it shows a time of 12:48 pm so 10 minutes difference from the time it shows delivered to the time I actually got it) , this is while my email is open and I am looking at emails ..... Email Version .. 147.0 ..

For almost 15 years we have been printing emails (they are notification of orders). Probably 75,000 over that time period. Within the last 2 months or so, the second page has stopped printing. I have reinstalled printer drivers and software. Made sure I'm updating Thunderbird to the last release. I have looked at every setting. I tried using another computer and still no luck.
The printer does print the second page from other email apps like gmail and two page orders directly from PayPal etc.
I've spent hours upon hours and I'm out of ideas.

Es erscheint jedes Mal die folgende Meldung, wenn ich eine E-Mail geschrieben habe und auf Senden klicke: Senden der Nachricht fehlgeschlagen. "Fehler beim Senden der Nachricht: SMTP-Server-Fehler. Der Mail-Server antwortete: IP=38.246.32.9 - Your address is blocked.
Vom Handy aus kann ich E-mails reibungslos versenden, vom E-Mail-Center der Telekom aus funktioniert das auch. Ich habe weder Passwörter noch sonstige Zugangsdaten verändert. Die Einstellungen im E-Mail-Center finden Sie im Anhang.
