i do the following but still get the message java scripts do not work

Mozilla Firefox 45.x and above (PC):

   Please ensure that your copy of Firefox is up to date.
   Click the Firefox drop-down menu or, if using the Menu Bar, continue to Step 2.
   Expand the Help menu and then select About Firefox within it.
   Firefox should now automatically check for updates and prompt you to restart it when finished.
   Once Firefox restarts, JavaScript should be enabled.

My original email is no longer valid. Every time I attempt making a secondary email the system wants to send a code to the email that no longer works. How do I rectify this problem?

Sometimes I am using the youtube app to watch something on a TV, but want to quickly look up a video for someone else on my browser at the same time. I have my settings to "always ask" me whether or not to open links in their native app or stay in FireFox. But recently the setting has not been sticking. I've had to reset the settings at least three times today. What's going on? Am I doing something wrong in settings?

Everytime I close firefox I lose all my tabs and history gets erased. This just started once I created an account. I tried changing the startup options, logging out and logging in, google searches, nothing works so far.

Tell me why they're trying to do this? I'm confused how. Firefox starts about 30 seonds later(Im viewing thru windows 10 filemanager) and stops google. I do not let google or edge start on boot. This only happens from wake after sleep. I believe only 5 or 6 days has this been happening. Any ideas?

There is no sound from my desktop Imac. It has Tahoe OS 26.5.1. I have checked the obvious settings, volume, mute, etc. What could be the problem? I get sound when using Safari.

Firefox used to display an AI overview response at the top of the page when you asked a question. That feature has disappeared on my systems. I assume that is because of the new AI controls. Is that function still available? If so, how do I re-enable it on Windows 10? The only video I could find addressed it for Windows 11 but I'm not there yet.

I have read the Refresh Firefox instructions that appear in the "Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings" Firefox support webpage, including the "saved items" and "removed items" section.

Over time, I have made a number of changes in the "about:config" section of my Firefox browser.

Q: Would a Refresh of my Firefox browser affect any of these "about:config" changes?

Q: Is there a way that I can create a list of all "about:changes" that I have made?

I'm using Firefox for Android version 152.0.1 (Build #2016167575) on a Galaxy S24 Plus phone running Android 16.

Firefox is set as the default browser. It always opens whenever a task requires a browser. But when I try to open an HTML file by tapping or long pressing it, the dialog window that opens doesn't show Firefox as an option. Screenshot_#1_20260624.jpg

I have checked the settings in "Apps that can open links", all apps there show "In other app" In "Default apps", Firefox is under "Browser app". Screenshot_#2_20260624.jpg

What do I need to do so Firefox is either the default app for HTML files or at least shows up in the "Dialog window"? Screenshot_#1_20260624.jpg

I need to enable Javascript. This problem began with the latest update 152.02. Last Pass needs it. So does ID me. I have tried about:config and javascript.enabled (true). Apparently it is not so. The computer is an HP Pro 3500 series MP Windows 10. I hope someone can help. Thanks.

6/21/26 This morning I could not open my FireFox browser, unless i created a Profile. I was forced to use the Profiles Wizard to create a Profiles; when i finished all my Bookmarks had disappeared. Which was a great shock, had lots of Bookmarks in Bookmarks Toolbar, Bookmarks Menu, & Other Bookmarks, I need to get those Bookmarks back !! >>More info: I had Hibernated my Dell 15 laptop overnight. This morning when I turned on the laptop, I got the above message that I had to create a Profile, which I did, which made all my bookmarks to DISAPPEAR !! I need them back!

I'm using a Windows/Linux client called WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux). I've installed Debian as my WSL OS and for a long time I had Debian version 10. Firefox worked fine with ver 10 but this morning I upgraded to Debian version 13 (which required me to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox).

Firefox still launches okay but I wanted to change my home page to Google. So I clicked the 3 lines at the top RHS which showed me a popup menu but none of the options was selectable. Eventually I twigged that to change settings I needed to launch Firefox using sudo.

I managed to change the home page okay but I then realised that if I launch Firefox without using sudo, my new home page is ignored. Conversely (if I launch using sudo again) Firefox launches at a tiny size and can't be re-sized (at least, not using my mouse cursor). I've attached a small screenshot.

All I can do is to display it full screen and then I can tell that the home page is indeed now Google. I don't remember having these problems previously so can anyone give me a clue as to what I'm doing wrong??

Why is there no FIFA world cup widget in my Firefox for Android, version 152.0.1? I have looked through all the settings, but there is nothing. When I use the search feature in settings, there is a search result when searching for "world cup" which redirects me to the "Homepage settings", but there is nothing.

Hi. Recently, not sure of which version as there seems to be a lot of updates :)

I'm currently on 152.0.1 on a Windows 11.

This problem doesn't happen on my Raspberry pi with 152.0 (aarch64) On my Android 13 I have allowed Pop-ups, via about:config, sort of, but there is no option to make Exceptions

So back to Windows 11.

As said I can enter an exception and that works when I load the site I want until I close Fx and I have to do it all again: Enter Domain : Allow : Save etc.

Once, and only once, I closed the [settings] and I'm sure after closing FX and opening it worked fine.

Just closed again and problem has occurred.

The issue arises on my site https://calstock.org.uk which opens a window to a UK weather site, The Met Office. It requires cookies etc. and shows it's own popup.

What I do is open it first in a new window, which is the popup I am referring to, then I load it in an iframe, then I close the popup.

That way the cookie is set by the new window that pops up so there is no query on my main page.

I only have the one extension, uBlock Origin which I have on all devices
