Emails now showing up from 9am when its now noon , other emails show up on time

I just started having a issue where it will be for example noon , and I just get a email , that is not on top but down the list and it says 9am , or similar times where it is 1 or more hours later from the time on the email , but it just showed up , but its down on the list of recent emails , so for example I check emails and a few come in or I get a notice that I have a new email

I have Thunderbird minimized in the taskbar , I never close it , and it will show a email from a few hours ago that just came in , but its below emails that I have already read that were after that time , so basically its like some emails just randomly appear that didn't get delivered when they were supposed to along with the others at that time , this is not a 1 time thing , this has happend several times over the last few days

I can't find any Setting that allows me to choose Newest Emails on Top , or to check the Time to see if it thinks its a different time of day than it is when delivering , or to bring in emails in order of delivery time , newest first and so on , so if a email has a Delivery time of 9:38 am I actually recieve it at 9:38 am , for example I got a email showing the time at 12:48 PM as delivered (10 minutes ago , but I just got the email now at 12:58 am) , then I got one time stamped at 11:15am , and 11:13 am , and at 9:38 am , , the 9:38 am email came AFTER I got the 11:15 email by about 30 minutes , and the one I just now got (it was 12:58pm when I got it , but it shows a time of 12:48 pm so 10 minutes difference from the time it shows delivered to the time I actually got it) , this is while my email is open and I am looking at emails ..... Email Version .. 147.0 ..

Any Ideas ??? .... Thanks .... Jim

yep the time on an email is set when you compose it, not when you get it. There is also no guarantee that your provider accepts it on it's first submission. Some mail servers with no, or poor, reputations. They are usually hosted domains and small businesses. Have their email deliberately delayed by the likes of Yahoo, Gmail and Microsoft. They routinely drop until the server has tried to deliver multiple times of over multiple days to satisfy them the server is legitimate in some way. Often these servers fail reverse DNS check, or other mail verification because the domain owners are not mail savvy and simply do not configure their new domain correctly to get their mail delivered.

Email is Hotmail , not sure if that makes any difference , I have had this account since Outlook Express , so Win 95-ish , and yeah , I just got a few more from 2am and 6am , that came in with the emails I got at 10am

So basically you are saying when they write (or produce in the case of ad emails I get from stores I visit or TV Subscriptions , etc.) are timestamped when they are made , not when I was supposedly supposed to recieve them  ?? ......... Because I am sure things like Windows 10 Mail or Outlook show the timestamp when you recieve them , which is why I was thinking something was wrong , and since Windows 10 Mail quit working/was discontinued , I had to get a new email , and have struggled with some of the , or lack of , features with Thunderbird , like attachements and overall functionality and looks , compared to Windows 10 Mail , which I actually liked (though I liked Outlook Express much more , and can't stand the new Outlook because it is Web Based instead of on my PC where I want my email to be , and of all the options , Thunderbird was the most useable , though far from what I was hoping it would be) ..... Thanks ....... Jim

OK , after getting even more outdated emails (either from earlier in the day or a day or so prior then when I actually recieved them) , I am still thinking this is a Mozilla issue and a bug , I don't believe it has anything to do with "when" someone "sends" a email to me , for the simple fact I am now daily getting random emails that show up on the day prior emails , as a NEW just recieved email , even though I got emails 1 or 2 times before the one from a day prior showed up or hours after I recieved other emails ,suddenly there is a email from like 10am , when I already recieved emails from noon and 5 or 10pm , then suddenly there is 1 or more emails from the morning that were not there before , but they show showing up at 8 or 10 in the morning as wehen they arrived , but clearly were not there then , or later , until much later or the next day , this has NEVER happened before , and now it is a constant daily issue , the fact that they show as NEW/UNREAD , hours or a day after I read all the emails that were after them in timeline , but suddenly they apprear at the day/time they say they were supposed to arrive , not the current time when they physically showed up

So say I get 10 emails in a day , I read ALL OF THEM at say 10am , then 3pm , then 5pm , then later on in the evening (or next day) a NEW email appears from the day prior way down the list past ALL the emails I already looked at , or its shown in the time , hours before all the other emails I already recieved and read and it was NOT there before , so to me , that is a BUG , besides being annoying , especially when I am expecting a particular email , and its not there all day , then it shows up within ALL the emails I have already read , but it just arrived
