Hi again Konstantina, everything seems to go ok until I come to entering the Website (mail.google.com). I try to save the changes but that doesn't seem to want to work. I appear to be very close so any further help would be appreciated.

Hey arnold, if that's the case I think you need to enable it via google first. So do the following: Open Gmail. At the top right, click Settings and then See all settings. Scroll to “Desktop notifications.” Click New mail notifications on Then choose the mail notification sound.

Hi Konstantina Thanks again, your help is truly appreciated. I did as you mentioned but no luck again. The annoying part is that up until a few days ago the sound was working so I must have done something to lose it. I am unfortunately not the most computer literate person around!

Should you, however, have any other suggestions I will be more than happy to receive them.

This is so weird Do you mind sharing a screenshot of the section on your mail settings so I see what you see? Also I assume you have sound in other websites? Lastly, can you try to right click on your email tab - do you see an unmute button?

You might not believe this but when your email came through it actually played the sound to let me know so hopefully all is well again! (Before I sent my previous email to you I sent one to myself to see if it worked but no luck). Hopefully you fixed it for me but if there are any further problems I will let you know if you don't mind.
