Hello,

On the Firefox home page, there are shortcuts. I have pinned some of these shortcuts. When I click on a shortcut, it opens in the current tab. I would like to have the shortcut I click, open in a new tab, without having to Ctrl+click Is this possible?

If you use a mouse try right click, there is then an option, but that is each time. :)

Thank you for the suggestion but that is less efficient than Ctrl+click. I am after a setting to make left click permanently trigger shortcuts to open in new tab.

Update: Have found a workaround. Pinning the Firefox home tab results in pinned shortcuts opening in a new tab.

I will still leave this open as a workaround is not technically a resolution.

Hello

I suggest to use your mouse Middle Click: Press your middle mouse button (usually the scroll wheel) to open it in a new tab.

If you want to always open in a new tab, you can follow these:

  • Enter about:config in the address bar.
  • Search for the following preferences:

browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground

  • Switch values to true.
