How do I prevent Firefox from automatically adding/pinning shortcuts to my home page. I only want the ones I already added manually.

You need to pin all tiles to prevent Firefox from filling them automatically.
This doesn't resolve the issue. Even if you fill all the spaces, new ones keep pushing themselves in replacing the very last one(s).
