Full screen goes darker after about 5 seconds

Hope someone can help.

When I use full screen for some websites, it darkens after about 2 - 5 seconds and my cursor also becomes harder to move. This only started to happen recently.

It is not my computer settings, I've tested this in Safari and it works normally. This makes videos unwatchable. It is like a dark screen suddenly appears over the video and only comes off if i move the cursor. It happens with netflix and prime but not youtube, udemy.

cor-el; Make sure you have the latest Widevine version. You can toggle DRM off/on to see if that makes Firefox (re)load DRM components.

You can possibly check the XHR requests in the Browser Console if this doesn't work.

Did this start after you updated to Firefox v95, or sometime after?

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

I've tried that now, but it made no difference.

Yes, this recently started, only after the update I believe. I am now on v95.0

Use these links to create a new profile. Use this new profile as is. Is the problem still there?

I have noticed the same exact problem: screens gets darker in full screen for some websites (video) after updating to version 95.0. For example as soon as subtitles appear screens becomes normal, as soon as subtitles disappear, dark again. It is UNUSABLE!!!

Starting in Troubleshoot Mode had no effect on the problem, still getting darker. Creating new profiles didn't change the behavior, still getting darker!!!

In Safari no problem! Never happened with previous version of Firefox.

Please correct this BUG.

I updated my browser again today, no impact on the issue.

I called for more help.

Issue exists for me, too.

Screen becomes dark when Netflix is on full screen, with no other window on top.

Even having a dev-console open fixes this issue. But it's not a "usable solution".

Updating to 96.0.1 worked.

Issue no longer occurs for me.

Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
