I often open 5 - 6 tabs at once from my bookmark bar, but Firefox swaps to them instantly. This doesn't happen when I open links from other websites.

This is the reason I swapped away from Firefox a few years ago and used Chrome.

  1. In the address bar, type about:config and press the Enter key.
  2. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
Click I accept the risk! to continue to the about:config page.
  3. Set browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground = true.

Perfect answer. I have no idea why it wasn't set to true in the first place, though. Seems like if you can have an option to open links in the background, the same should go for bookmarks.

Thanks a lot!
