Every time I close out of Thunderbird I lose one of my email accounts and have to reconfigure it each time. I looked through the settings and can't find out how to keep that from happening. Any input?

when Thunderbird closes it updates a file called prefs.js with the changes made in this session. This is especiall7y so for new accounts added. Unfortunately I have been seeing a rash of antivirus programs blocking the writing of this file, so when you look in the actual profile folder there is sometimes hundreds of copies, neatly numbered in sequence and then ignored.

SO open your profile folder in file manger. The troubleshooting information on the help menu has a link in it. and check how many prefs.js files you have stored there and the dates.
