I use Thunderbird on my desktop computer as email client for a Gmail account. One person who regularly emails me uses an iPhone. The message comes through but the attachment does not. If I go directly into the Gmail account via Firefox the attachment is there. How can I get the attachment to come through from Gmail? I have no problems with similar emails coming from other correspondents.

Hello
Nowadays, emails are often formatted like Word documents to appeal to recipients as much as possible, because unfortunately, emails are considered "by nerds and for nerds" if they look like a text editor from 20 years ago ☹️
Although ribbons are loved by 95% of users (this popular usability feature is almost 20 years old!), Thunderbird, unfortunately, still does not offer anything similarly simple.
Therefore, it would be very useful if users could place EVERY menu command in the unified toolbar 😍 so that important functions do not have to be searched for somewhere in a sub-sub-sub menu, but can be accessed with a single click on the toolbar.
Therefore my question: How can we place any Menu Command onto the unified toolbar?
For example, we would like to have a drop-down list with all fonts in the toolbar, so that we can assign a font to selected text with just two clicks and, above all, so that we can filter the over 130 fonts in the drop-down list 😊
Thanks a lot, kind regards, Thomas

I clicked on something wrong and now I have a new "trash" folder as a subfolder under the "sent" folder. I cannot delete it and all my trash goes into it. The old one is still where it is supposed to be and stays empty. How can I delete the new one and send all my trash to the old one where it belongs?
I have no idea what I clicked on that created this problem.
Thanks for any help.

I have noticed that quite a few emails have gotten into the junk folder despite the fact that they meet the criteria to be filtered by my own custom message filters and I have those filters set to run before junk classification. So it seems the junk filter is actually being applied prior to my own message filters. I'd really like to just turn off the junk filter entirely because I like to make my own filters to catch things that I deem as junk, (and that is how it worked on my old version of thunderbird that I had on my old laptop). Is it possible to turn it off, and if so, how?
If it is not possible, then it would be good if this apparent bug were fixed.
I included a screenshot showing just one example of an email from an address I had created a custom filter for in the junk mail folder.

Please help me – Thunderbird not recognizing mail files for a pop3 I am using Thunderbird version 115.10.1 with Windows 10 I have multiple pop3 accounts I deleted one of those accounts in Thunderbird to test another email software. I then deleted that software and added that pop3 account back to Thunderbird However, the reinstalled account does not show any of the emails or folders for that account. They are no longer visible. But when I go here C:\Users\Dale & Cheryl Office\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\ajcrll97.default\Mail In the “Mail” folder I see the following (see image)
How can I get Thunderbird to recognize the old email directory of all my past email history for the reinstalled pop3 account?
I am grateful for any help that you can provide
Thank You Dale

Latest version on W10 desktop machine.
1. Setting to open message in a new window does not work. Insists on making a new tab instead.
2. When Thunderbird window is active, kills attempts to use desktop icons for other programs.
3. Cannot minimize Thunderbird via taskbar. Have to hit minimize(-) from window.
Can any of these be remedied?

Hello, I have a problem with Thunderbird that I don't understand and can't solve. Thunderbird can't connect to my IMAP account on the remote server perfectly even after a clean install. Incoming emails are downloaded, but only 82 out of 5600 outgoing emails. All login details are correct, I tried STARTTLS settings on the correct ports, but there is no change. I see in the Activity Manager that the connection between the server and the client is lost several times a minute. There is no network error, both I and the internet service provider have checked the connection. The client is running the Win11 operating system.

Hello,
I’m having an issue with Mozilla Thunderbird when using my WP.pl (IMAP) email account. Thunderbird keeps downloading messages endlessly — it repeatedly fetches headers and then tries to download all emails for offline use, but the process never finishes.
I would like to keep all my messages available offline, but it seems Thunderbird is constantly synchronizing and never stops downloading.
I haven’t tried any troubleshooting steps yet. Could you please advise how to properly set up Thunderbird so that it downloads all messages once and then keeps them stored offline without repeating the same process continuously?

I've been using Thunderbird for years (Windows 11 PC), and all has been working fine as recently as last night. Starting this morning, I continuously get the error message, "Login to server mail.comcast.net with user name xxx failed" (xxx not my actual account name). I've tried the "Retry" and "Enter New Password" options to no avail. I can go directly to the Comcast website, login and get my email that way, but I can't get Thunderbird to login.
To my knowledge, nothing changed between last night and today, but yet something seems to have happened. Any ideas appreciated!

Attendo Ragguagli in merito. Cordiali saluti
