That's not a very recent version. The current releases are:

  • Regular: Firefox 95.0 (just released today)
  • Extended Support Release: Firefox 91.4.0esr

Anyway, if the built-in updater is not working, then you may need to trash the Firefox app (without removing your Firefox data) and install the newer version manually.
