It is possible that your firewall or other security software blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

See:

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.

Hello,

  • What happens exactly when you try to visit a website?
  • Do you get an error message?
  • Can you do a search on Google? What happens when you click on a search result?
  • Can you visit Mozilla.org ?

Hello aman8409,

In order to help you solve your problem I need to have some additional information.

Since when have you had this problem? Is this problem related to access from Desktop/Laptop or Smartphone?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Hello,

Maybe it helps if you clear your browser's cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu, choose History, and then "Clear Recent History...".
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the "Clear Now" button.

Further information can be found in the Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Hello,

I'm guessing there is some issue with your cache and/or cookies. Do you have these problems in Private Browsing too?

To open a Private Browsing tab:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu
  2. Click New Private Window
  3. Browse to some websites in the Private Window

There is security software like Avast and Kaspersky and BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.
