Hello all, So Just yesterday I noticed that when playing videos on youtube in full screen, i get a lot of sound crackling and video slow down and the likes. Also happens in other sites such as shush.se

At first it seemed to happen after Flash updated but my laptop updated the same and there is no problem there. It happens both with the flash and the HTML5 player, FF only, on chrome there is no problem.

If i enable hardware acceleration in the flash player settings, then there is no video at all, just a green screen.

I'm using win7 64-bit (actually just re-installed windows-not related,but i had 32bit before, hoped it would help but didn't)

Please help!

Yes of course, my drivers are fully updated.

I think it may seem to be more of an audio problem than video.....?

Thanks jippik, but if you read my opening message you'll see I already addressed the hardware acceleration issue....

Oops, my apologies, must have missed that.

I believe you have the latest version of Java. Have you tried to reset your browser and see if that fixes the issue?

Just did, did not help

Thanks, appreciate the help. I'm seeking help on the AMD and Flash support forums as well at the same time, so far i've:

  • restarted my browser
  • fully updated every windows update available.
  • ran Display Driver Uninstaller from safe mode, which strips even the most basic display driver
  • clean re-install of the display driver from the AMD site

None of that seemed to help...

Regarding AV or FW programs changing or whatever, i use windows firewall, and before i reinstalled windows i used Panda AV, right now i have MS security essentials, both programs same problem, and i use malwarebytes regularly (not to mention again, its a clean install of legit windows)

A little update!

I seem to have solved my issue! partially at least. I just updated my RAM (unrelated reason) from DDR3 4GB 1333MHZ to DD3 2X4GB 1600MHZ. And now I can play videos at full screen without any problems anymore! :D

For some reason tho, if i try to enable hardware acceleration in flash settings it crashes my display driver.

Any thoughts on that? Just out of curiosity

BlueRev, have you tried to disable protected mode in Flash with hardware acceleration on?
