Hi just downloaded firefox as a browser alternative to ie, we watch online tv through a company called expat tv in spain. Probs with ie kept freezing and closing down. However on first trying to use firefox & connecting the laptop to the tv as usual via a hdmi cable there is now no sound from the tv?? it has to be firefox but what can we do please, it has never done this before.

You most likely need to close and restart Firefox after changing the default audio device to make Firefox use it.

Also check for the Volume for Adobe Flash Player, generally it is On the volume mixer for the desktop speakers the volume for Adobe Flash Player at the bottom. check if it is turned off.
