want bookmarks to reload in sidebar

Until recently my bookmarks would automatically reload and be listed in the sidebar. This is what I want.

Now whenever I go to the MF start page the bookmarks have to be reloaded by using View, Sidebar, Bookmarks. Bookmarks is checked and I would think that this would do it.

I have spent 30 minutes trying to find how to do this using VIEW or the help features.

Now it is working.  ? I don't believe that I set anything differently. Is the start page programmed to change a default setting after the bookmarks are put into the sidebar, say, 30-50 times in a short time?
