Why does my macOS with firefox 154 run hot, ie, fans always on?

Since version 154, my 2017 Macbook Air running MacOS Monterey causes my fans to be always on. The battery preferences says "Using significant amount energy." I've turned off all AI features.

Is it with any content loaded, or just on its own sitting idle?

Could you try restarting into Troubleshoot Mode (from Help menu) to see if this can be impacted by an addon or some performance preference?
