Hello there Janine.maund
I did read your message.
How do you block an email? Thunderbird does not have a direct blocking option built into the program. However, you can create a filter to block unwanted emails. Choose the email sender you want to block, right-click the message, and name your filter blocked list.
Set the conditions, and under "Perform these actions," choose "Delete Message" or "Move Message to > Trash." Click "OK" and "Run Now.

You say Thunderbird does not have an individual blocking function. However, Gmail sent to me is being blocked from some senders. Tell me how to get it unblocked please.

As was mentioned, Thunderbird has no ability to block a sender. The closest thing to that is to download the message, then filter it as spam or to the Trash folder.
Most email providers have the ability to block senders on the server - those controls are usually found on their web mail page. Otherwise, if messages to you that originate at Gmail are being blocked, it's being done by your email provider, or by some other server between you and the sender. If so, usually (but not always) the sender will receive a non-delivery notice that may cite an error message as to why it's blocked. A common reason is that your mailbox is full. Another possibility is that your provider has decided, wrongly or rightly, that the sender is a spammer.
You should contact your email provider for guidance.
