change in look
on my laptop I must have changed something because now I don't see the end of the messages with the "bar" that allows me to delete and shows me a copy of the e:mail.
Don't know what I changed to make that disappear, but I want it back!

Not sure I understand what you mean - maybe a screen shot would help.
Otherwise, try playing around with the options found in the menu View | Layout . You may have changed one of those settings by accident.
Do you see the message pane? If you do not, hit F8 key.
