Thunderbird Version 115.2.3 behaves strangely with pop "download headers only"

I am a POP user using Thunderbird Version 115.2.3. I retrieve the mail headers first, then when I click on a message to see the contents of the actual message Thunderbird skips to the next message. The message I had wanted to read now becomes the previous message. I then have to go back and click on the message to see its contents. Please correct.

The issue seems to have gone away and I have done nothing whatsoever. Very strange. The same thing happened with the "Get Message" option in the left of the menu bar. It was not retrieving my messages at first but suddenly started retrieving my messages. Again very strange.

That is weird. I saw someone else post something that with "download headers only", they were subsequently not able to download the message body.

Strange things are happening with this version. Just now the GET MESSAGES icon did not work when I first logged in yet it seems to be working now. Earlier this morning I had to use the "GET NEW MESSAGES" under FILE in order to retrieve my messages. Delano Attride
