Hard drive replaced, never used Sync, recovery of Bookmarks?
Replaced hard drive, never used Sync, attempts to restore Bookmarks links to empty folder. 1. Are all Firefox backups stored on the hard drive, if so having never used Sync, they are gone?
2. Any estimate cost of recovery attempt by tech to obtain the backup files from old hard drive which would not complete boot sequence, error code2000-1051 Validation 50583

I share your grief. The same thing happen to me last month. But I had sync, and backups on a thumb drive.

The normal procedure in such a case is to mount the hard drive in a device that can be connected via a USB port. If that fails then the only other way is a specialized company that disassembles the hard drive and makes an image of the platters and tries to recover data this way, but that is a costly procedure.
