When I received a message that has been signed and has attachments, the "detach" and "delete" options are not available. I understand that this would break the value of the signature. But in fact, I don't really care for the signature and I would rather break it, remove the attachments, and store the message for later reference. Is that possible? Can this be added to a development wish-list for future versions of Thunderbird?

You can file enhancement bugs in bugzilla. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

But s/MIME is governed by an standard. RFC5751 so if you want change you must be sure that it does not break the standard as that will not get off the ground. New developments to improve standards compliance is where effort will be placed.

If I want to make this enter a wish-list in the design of the tool, is there a place where this can be done and discussed?
