Why did the support for full themes go away?

So, I am just curious why the support for full themes was removed? Those themes were actually useful, they made the buttons better sometimes, they made the browser easier to look at without the bright white background that will eventually make someone go blind. Sometimes they added cool functionality, in general they were a heck of a lot more useful than whatever it is you are pushing currently, and they looked 10,000 times better than anything you are pushing currently.

So, I am just curious why the support for full themes was removed? It requires a lot of effort from theme developers to keep their themes working with all supported Firefox versions because they need to include CSS code for all components including the builtin developer tools.
